NPORS - Skip Loader

Course Aims

​The NPORS Skip Loader course aims to provide the candidate with a thorough practical and theory training in operating a skip loader in order to enable the candidate to pass the NPORS Theory and Practical Tests.

 

Course Content

• Relevant regulations/legislation

• Recognition of potential hazards (hazardous substances)

• Techniques for siting/lifting close to ground works and buildings

• Loading/off-loading techniques for empty/loaded skips

• Signalling procedures

• Lifting techniques for a loaded skip

• Trimming and securing loads

• Methods and procedures for tipping loaded skips

• Operators’ responsibilities for preparing and using the skip handler for road travel

• Spatial Awareness

 

Duration of Training

Depending on experience.

Novice training 2-3 days.

 

Test

To achieve the NPORS Operators Card candidates must pass both the NPORS Theory Test and the Practical Test.
