NPORS - Safe Use Of Ladders Training

Course Aims

​The NPORS Safe Use Of Ladders course aims to provide the candidate with a thorough practical and theory training in using  the correct  methods to stabilise and access a leaning ladder as well as the use of a step ladder in order to enable the candidate to pass the NPORS Theory and Practical Tests.

 

Course Content

  • Appreciation of the requirements of UK legislation

  • Identify the hazards and risks when working from ladders and steps

  • The importance of correct personal protection equipment

  • Understand the method of correct fitting, usage and inspection of fall protection equipment specified for this course

  • Visually inspect ladders and stepladders for damage before and after use

  • Secure leaning ladders

  • Access procedure for portable ladders and step ladders

  • Manual handling techniques

  • Storage methods

  • Practical demonstration of equipment by course candidate

 

Duration of Training

Training 0.5 day.

 

Test

To achieve the NPORS Operators Card candidates must pass both the NPORS Theory Test and the Practical Test.
